Ludwigia Natans Bunch is a fast-growing, colourful aquarium stem plant that can transform the look of a planted tank with minimal effort. When given brighter light (and ideally CO2 + nutrients), Ludwigia Natans develops richer red and copper tones, making it an awesome “feature” plant behind driftwood, rocks, or along the back wall of the aquarium. In lower light it will stay more green/orange, but still adds great texture and movement.
Ludwigia Natans Bunch – care, placement & growth tips
- Placement: Best in the midground to background (it can get tall quickly)
- Growth rate: Fast once established; great for filling in new scapes
- Trimming: Trim stems and replant the cut tops to create a dense bush
- Lighting: Medium–high light for best colour (higher light = more red tones)
- CO2 & fertiliser: Not strictly required, but strongly helps with colour, speed, and leaf quality
- Beginner-friendly: A solid option if you want a red plant without it being overly fussy
