Apistogramma borellii “Opal” (3–3.5cm) is a peaceful dwarf cichlid with shimmering blue and yellow colours—perfect for planted aquariums, soft water community tanks, and dedicated Apistogramma setups.
Care Requirements for Apistogramma borellii “Opal”
- Tank Size: Minimum 60L for a pair or small group of dwarf cichlids
- Water Parameters: Soft, slightly acidic to neutral water, pH 6.0–7.2, temperature 22–26°C
- Aquarium Setup: Planted aquarium with driftwood, caves, leaf litter, and shaded areas to create territories and hiding spots
- Filtration: Gentle flow and very stable, clean water conditions
Feeding
- Fine sinking pellets or granules suitable for dwarf cichlids
