Care Requirements for Aponogeton crispus
- Lighting: Low to moderate light; stronger light encourages faster growth
- CO₂: Not required, but will benefit from CO₂ and good fertilisation
- Placement: Best used as a midground or background plant in most aquariums
- Substrate: Grows from a bulb; plant the bulb halfway into the substrate or simply rest it on top
Growth & Maintenance
- Trim older or damaged leaves at the base to keep the plant tidy
- Provide a nutrient-rich substrate or root tabs for strong growth
- Allow space around the plant so the leaves can spread and move freely
Compatibility
- Tetras, rasboras, barbs, gouramis, and other peaceful community fish
