Assorted Veil Tail Male Betta
Size and Lifespan
These males reach about 5 cm in body length at present. They typically grow to a maximum of 7 cm. Good maintenance routines, such as regular water changes and balanced meals, allow them to reach 3 to 5 years of age in most cases.
Ideal Tank Setup
Choose a calm aquarium that lets the fish move comfortably and preserves the long fin shape. Install a low-flow filter and reliable heater to hold steady conditions. Strong water movement often frays the tail, so keep the flow minimal.
To replicate its natural habitat:
- Place plenty of broad-leaf plants for hiding and resting areas
- Position gentle ornaments such as silk leaves or small logs
- Maintain water levels from shallow to moderate depth
- Secure a tight-fitting lid because bettas can leap out
Compatible Tank Mates
Most owners keep the Standard Assorted Veil Tail Male by itself to reduce stress and fin damage. In bigger setups, however, certain calm bottom-dwellers or schooling fish coexist without issues when introduced slowly.
Suitable tank mates include:
- Peaceful Corydoras species that occupy lower levels
- Shy Kuhli loaches active along the substrate
- Small groups of ember tetras or chili rasboras
- Algae-eating nerite or mystery snails
Diet and Feeding
Offer premium betta-specific pellets for daily nutrition because they deliver balanced proteins. Add variety with frozen daphnia or mosquito larvae a couple of times weekly. Provide small feeds two to three times each day, then clear any uneaten food quickly.
